Review for Marquee Digital Labs MD-1000LED-3D Projector. Is it GOOD OR BAD?

Hey guys, welcome to Foreign Tech. I am here today to submit a review about Marquee Digital Labs. I've been using Marquee projector for few months now. I see a bunch of forums like this

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1314432/white-van-projector-scam/30

and it makes me wonder. I had this projector for a few months and i never had any problems with it. I paid $550 for it. To me, this projector performs very very well. I see the people at those forms complaining about how bad this projector is and how they got "RIPPED OFF" or "IT WAS A SCAM". Well the projector may not be worth $5000 dollars like it says on the website but it gives a very nice performance of a $1500 projector. Since the day i got this projector i've been using it non stop for cable and my gaming system. This projector is super bright and vivid. I've been playing call of duty and watching movies with it.  Even during mid daylight it still shows very nice and bright image, of course not as bright as night time, but again what projector does? This projector is very very quiet and takes a lot less energy since its LED. When i hear that the people are complaining that they got scammed, I don't think that they take one thing into consideration "WHAT KIND OF PROJECTOR WOULD THEY GGET FOR $500 OF MAJOR BRAND"well they would never get the same performance projector for $500 anywhere, especially a 3D one. I think for the price, this is the projector to go. I love it, it gets the job done, perhaps its not HP or Benq or dell but who wants to pay $3000 dollars for a projector. I think no one is ripping anyone off if they are getting this projector for up to $600.  This machine is well built. One con thing about it is that i wish that the makers would upload a better software and have more setting options. I uploaded pictures of the one that I have. If you are looking for a projector and people who are selling it for a price between 0-$600 dollars then you should highly consider it.

Here are the photos of my projector which includes

1. Ceiling Mount
2. 3D Glasses
3. Remote
4. Lens Cleaning Cloths
5. HDMI Cable

All of these inclusions usually are standard with the current models of Marquee Digital

If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment or a message and I will get back to you.

How to Build a High Performance on a Tight Budget

Looking for a nice high performance pc? but it's too expensive to buy one from major stores? I have a very cost efficient  solution of "Build It Yourself" system. I will be explaining step by step on how to build one yourself. I will be showing you where to buy the components and how to assemble it.

To build a pc just by using all the component and putting it all together is one thing, but making it all compatible and working smoothly is a who another story. ForeignTech is not responsible for any damage to computer or all the components. You are at your own risk.

In this particular system I will be using ATI Processor and AMD Radeon Video card.

Component Item List

  1. Computer Tower (Computer Box)
  2. Video Card
  3. Processor
  4. Ram
  5. Motherboard
  6. Hard Drive
  7. Power Supply
  8. Cables
  9. CD-DVD Drive (Blue-Ray optional)
  10. Wireless Card (Optional)
Brand and Model Component List

1. Computer Tower.
There a ton of different computer towers out there, It really depends on what you prefer to have it. Every Computer Tower looks different. It does not matter what it looks like, as long as it's a "FULL TOWER".
2. Video Card
As I mentioned earlier, I will be using AMD Radeon video card for this system. AMD gives a very good quality for the price that it sells for. The video card that we will be using is "XFX Radeon HD 7750" This particular one provides responsiveness and quality of the image. It Has 1GB of dedicated memory just for graphics. It has 2 DVI and 1 HDMI plugs in it which allows you to plus your computer into high definition monitors or your Home HDTV with crisp quality. The price for this card is 89.99 at AMD Website. You may find it cheaper at "AMAZON" or "Ebay" or my favorite "NEW EGG"
3. Processor
AMD Processors are well made for budget computers. AMD currently has up to 8 cores in a processor, however for your system you only need 4 (quad core) which is plenty of speed. The particular one that I will be using is "AMD a Series A6-3650 / 2.6 GHz Processor" This is a very powerful processor for what it's worth. This processor is around $129.99 all over the internet. This will allow you to play very powerful games like Star Craft 2 and or Crysis 3 and etc...
4. Ram
For this system i will be using 8GB DDR3 Memory (RAM) which will allow me to open and close and run any kind of information trough game or movie or even files at lightening speed. "Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3" This is a very reliable ram from a very reliable company. I am running this and works very well. The cost is$49.99

5. Mother Board
I will be using ASUS motherboard. This is actually the only company that i trust with my systems because of its ability to tie all my components in a very efficient manner. I will be using "ASUS M5A78L-MLX PLUS AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard"
This motherboard has a good price of $54.99

6. Hard Drive
Hard drive is one of these things where it is really up to you of how much space you need. Average computer out there has 1 Terabyte of space which is 1000GB. For this system we are using "Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s This is a very good hard drive because it has great 7200 RPM (rotations per minute) which allows you to transfer information in and from your hard drive at lightening speed of 6 GB/s. This hard drive cost $64.99.

7. Power Supply
Custom systems like that take a lot of power. It is easy to find out how much power each component takes and add it all together and you will know how many watts you need. but for this system i would highly recommend "XION XON-1000P14F High Performance 1000w Powe Supply"This Power Supply will power your entire system with ease and with some extra power leftover. This power supply cost $79.99.
8. Cables
All cables that goes into your system will come with your motherboard. there aren't very many wired inside of the system because most components go directly into your mother board such things like RAM,VIDEO CARD, PROCESSOR. Cables that connect your Hard Drive will come with your motherboard and cable that power your cd drives will come with the power supply

9. CD-DVD Drive
CD-DVD is a must thing to have in the computer. but now days everybody has Blueray CD-DVD Drive
The one i will be using is "LG Black 12x BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM SATA Internal Blue-ray Drive" This Drive cost $49.99

10.Wireless Card
The Wireless Card is optional for you computer, all this does is makes so your computer can connect to internet without having to plug in a bunch of internet wires. Make it all wireless. "INTELLINET Network Solutions 524810 Wireless PCI Card IEEE" This Card Cost $19.99

The Build

Tools Needed

  1. Philips Screw Driver
  2. Flat Head Screw Driver
  3. Efficient Light (flashlight)
Instructions
  1. Prepare you Tower for full assembly for you system
  2. Unpack all of your new parts (processor, video card etc...)
  3. Put every component on the soft floor like carpet or towel or blanket to protect you new and expensive components.
  4. Take your power supply and install it in your Tower. Every tower is different, some towers have a space for power supply on the bottom and some have it on top. Once you locate the proper spot for your power supply, insert it firmly and secure it with the screws the came with the power supply.
  5. Take your motherboard and install it into the tower. motherboard has 4 screw holes on each corner of the board. Some motherboards has more, but 4 holes is universal. Screw the screws on each of the corner using metal washers and don't tight it too much. If you feel that it wont go anywhere then stop.
  6. Make sure your motherboard is secure. Check Motherboard's user Manuel for installation of your Tower's power button and USB connection. Every tower and motherboard is different. Each motherboard comes with a motherboard map which tells you where the power socket and tower USB power socket is.
  7. Find dedicated DVD drive slot on your tower and install your Blueray drive on to it. Blueray Drive has 4 screw holes in it. Two on each side. Secure tightly to you tower.
  8. Install your hard drive onto your tower. Usually hard drives are never seen from the outside so your tower should have a special slot on your tower for your had drive. Installation is the same as DVD drive. Two screws on one side and two on another.
  9. When you unpacked your motherboard, there should be one long and very wide and very thin cable. Your motherboard is color coated. Blue end goes into blue slot onto your motherboard. That what transfers all the information from your DVD drive and Hard Drive into your motherboard. Once you connect your blue end of the wire to blue slot in your motherboard connect your other end of the wire into the Blueray Drive and your Hard Drive. there should be 2-4 single colored ends coming out of that wire. It does not matter which end you connect to your hard drive or your blueray player because all ends of the wire goes to one plug that is plugged into your blue slot of your motherboard.
  10. Now you need to power up your motherboard from your power supply. Locate your 24pin slot on your motherboard and take your 24pin cable from your power supply and connect the two.
  11. Now install your stick or ram. On your motherboard there should be 4 longest slots. They are all right next to each other. The motherboard is pretty dummie proof. The tick of ram will not fit anywhere it shouldn't. Once you locate it. just install it firmly and you should hear a "CLICK" sound once its in.
  12. Now the main peace of the whole system, the PROCESSOR. your motherboard should come either with the fan and radiator off of your processor slot or on. If it's off then just carefully install your processor and follow motherboard user instruction of how to install the radiator and fan. If it's on then use motherboard's user manual of how to remove their radiator and fan. Once you insert your processor, there should be a lever right next to it to secure it. push the lever until its all the way down and your processor is fully secured.
  13. Now take your video card and install it on your motherboard. look at the video card connection size and look at your motherboard long connections and math the two and install it. The plugs on the motherboard should look similar to the ram plug ins.
  14. Take your wireless card (if you have one, it's optional) and on the bottom of your motherboard there should be similar plug like ram and video card and plug it into your motherboard. Make sure you take off your antenna if it has one and put it back on once you finished installing.
  15. get a hold of all of your wires from power supply and mach the power connections to your Blueray Drive, Hard Drive. One that's done, make sure all the connections are nicely connected and everything is night and tight.
  16. plug your monitor to your computer via HDMI cable or VGA cable or DIGITAL cable, then connect your mouse and keyboard.
  17. Turn on your PC and make sure everything work properly. Once you confirm that everything is working properly, close your Tower and enjoy
